God Save Our Queen....

Well firstly a big thanks to Queen Elizabeth II for giving us an extra day off to
enjoy this weekend! Mine will probably be spent working but still it will be a relaxed day!
Here's a picture from my visit to London on Tuesday....all looking very patriotic on Regent Street.

I know people have very mixed views about the Royal Family...but I see this weekend more as a time to appreciate the positive things about being British and living in the UK.
I know there are many lows, so many people are really struggling here,
politicians bicker like they're in a playground and the media constantly lies to us.
but to risk sounding annoying....it really could be a lot worse!
For so many people in the world, everyday they don't feel safe,
they put up with an extremely corrupt government, no available health care or education.

You can't choose where you're born and I feel lucky to be British, really lucky.
To live in a relatively safe country where I've had countless opportunities,
education, healthcare, clean water, heating and much much more!
(Like Marmite, fish and chips, the Beano, sports days, the seaside and cornish pasties!)

I'd love for you to comment with what you love about being British!
Rose-tinted glasses or not, it's weekend to be thankful!

Here's some character artwork I created for George@ASDA.
It's available in-store now or here online for any little girls out there for only £2!

Have a great weekend everyone!

a day off to see a show!

Me and my dad went to London for the day yesterday for his christmas present. We had such a lovely day, the morning spent wandering along the southbank, with a visit to the Tate Modern.
The bookshop in the Tate is fantastic, I could certainly spend an hour or two there.

They have a big installation there at the moment by Miroslaw Balka called The Unilever Series.
You're encouraged to walk into this huge contained space of pure darkness! We were wimps and didn't brave it further than about 5 metres!

In the afternoon we went to the Victoria Palace Theatre to see the Billy Elliot Musical. It was truly fantastic, a real emotional rollercoaster with such great performances from the cast. A wonderfully thought out production...the best my dad had seen so he said!

So a lovely day and good christmas present for my dad I think!
Now back to work!

Lets Play Exhibition

I'm off on my way to London for the day today! Can't wait! Hoping to squeeze in seeing some shops for inspiration and shopping (including Anthropologie, Paperchase and Selfridges) as well as catching up with a super friend, brother and sister in law.

I've recently been doing some work for The Art Group, they are such an exciting company with lots of new projects. One being their Lets Play exhibition which is running this week....can't wait to have a look this afternoon.
Certainly be worth checking out this exhibition if you're in London over the next few days.

my super duper hen do!!

I have now returned and recovered from my fantastic hen do in London!
My best friend and bridesmaid Charlene superbly organised the weekend, she did
such an excellent job, really couldn't have been better!
I made these badges for all my hens to wear on the friday night so everyone knew
who was who, we stayed in for the night and ate and drank! I had a Mr and Mrs quiz (which
I was relived to get the majority right!!) and charlene made me a slideshow video! :D
We all went on a duck tour round London in the sun on Saturday then headed
back to our great apartments to get ready for a
Guilty Pleasures club tropicana 80s beach party at Kokos in Camden.
Oh it was great! felt like a very lucky lady to have such super friends!
Now for the wedding!!!
