Me, my brother Sam and my sister in law to be, Abimaro had a nice relaxed time in Greenwich on Wednesday (see photos). Great views of London from Greenwich Park!
Then onto meet my lovely friend Abigail Brown from work at her Cockpit Arts studios(it was great to see the studios at last....they have open studios coming up soon!!! I definitely recommend a trip there!)
The evening was started with a cocktail before heading to a great new pad for lots of wine and nattering!
I managed to squeeze in a visit to one of my favourite shops in Nottingham today: Luna
Its full of a lovely variety of retro furniture and bits and bobs, you can buy online too!
They have a good selection of ceramics by Danish artist, Bjorn Wiinblad, I'm a big fan and some of his wall plaques are scattered around our home! (the pic above shows on named 'Juli')
I spotted on Jane Fosters blog recently that she was lucky enough to find some gorgeous Winblad prints at a jumble sale!!
Here's a snapshot of one...such an excellent find:
My agent is currently in NY busy with pre-SURTEX meetings
and then will be setting up booth 324-326 tomorrow!
Its going to look a little different from usual this year as a lot of the artists (fattymoe, rahrahrepeats, pocketful of patterns and little red) have created these huge banners to hang down the length of the stand.
I had a really fun day creating my banner, great to do something at a different scale in a different format.
Fingers crossed for all you surtex exhibitors that lots of sales are made and its the most successful show yet!
Scrapbooking seems to be such a huge business these days, especially in America.
Here's some designs of mine that have been used to create a collection for scrapbooking company, Momenta. Click here to see the rest of the collection.
and these are a couple of the original designs that Momenta created the Baby collection from.
On the Bayou has been out in Mamas and Papas a little while now and is available to buy instore and online.
I really enjoyed working on the embroideries and prints for this range, and as always the garment designs at Mamas and Papas have done a fantastic job!
Its certainly transformed, bigger and better than before with lots to offer, inc theatre, exhibitions, gigs, arts courses etc etc. Certainly worth a look if you're in the area. Another reason to visit is that its based in the very nice Cannon Hill Park.
The only thing I felt was missing from the new MAC was a shop...a lovely book shop would be perfect there. A Magma shop would be perfect!
