I've been in London the last couple of days seeing friends and family. Yesterday me and my dad went to see the Van Gogh exhibition at the Royal Academy....the long queue was worth the wait. There was a large amount of his artwork as well as letters, mainly to his younger brother Theo. Some of Van Gogh early work was really quite different to his most famous paintings and really show off what a talented drawer he was.
He was certainly a very interesting man, if only he could see the long queues in London for weeks on end just to see his work! Amazing to think his art dealer brother, Theo only managed to sell one or two of his paintings....including Red Vineyards at Arles
After the exhibition I am inspired to watch a film or read a book about Vincents life....recommendations are welcome!
