Citius, Altius, Fortius....

....this latin means 'Faster, Higher, Stronger' and the Olympic Ring logo was created in 1913.
There's some facts for your friday!
2 years until London 2012! I can't wait!
I wonder what Sir Seb Coe would make of my new
decorative version of the Olympic rings! I doubt he'll be a fan!

Have a good weekend everyone!
Mine is an unsociable one....full of work, a couple of jogs and food treats!

A favourite...Matt Sewell

I thought I'd share with you one of my favourite artists....Matt Sewell.
He produces a range of work, from making and painting wooden birds, screen prints, murals in various shops, bars etc etc. There's much much more!
I love the flow of his work...his girl characters and bird drawings/prints are my favourites.
He also works really well with typography.
Love love love!
A couple of years back I bought a few screenprinted postcards from a shop in Brighton.
They are framed and randomly scattered around my home.

See here for Matts website and shop

A lovely weekend

I really enjoyed my weekend...despite it kicking off with a whole friday night of house cleaning!
My friends arrived on Saturday and we went on the rowing boats on the lake by the university in the sunshine, followed by an lovely evening of sangria, tapas, cocktails
and daft dancing! the best kind!
A fry up went down a treat the following morning!

Once I'd waved my friends off...me and my Ed headed to GBK for tea and then onto see Saltimbanco by Cirque Du Soleil!
it was fantastic!

Talking of the circus....not as flamboyant as Cirque Du Soleil but still very entertaining,
here's some pics from the circus tent at Glastonbury this year....
This crazy man got right inside this giant ball! It was all very clever! I'm not sure how he managed to breathe in there...
or how when he burst it at the end he ended up dressed like Elvis!!!

I love henna feet!

Here's my latest foot decor!
A better attempt than last time I think....see here for my Glastonbury feet!
I bought a new tube of henna from Ebay which is less orangey and more brown,
just how I like it!!
I don't think I could ever decide on a design that I'd like as a real tattoo so henna is perfect for an indecisive me!

Time for the weekend! I've got friends coming to stay and a trip to the circus with my husband on sunday...hopefully tied in a visit to gbk! A perfect weekend...can't wait!
Have a good one everyone!

Bird chaser Gary

Here's a summery birthday design which is a favourite of mine.
I always thought our cat Gary wasn't a hunter but this summer has so far seen him bring us two birds and a mouse.
I know they think they're presents for us owners but I'd rather he wasn't so thoughtful!

wallpaper love

It's when I see beautiful wallpaper that I want my own home that
I can decorate and spruce up however I wish! one day maybe!
This one was brought to my awareness by the super Print and Pattern, and is by Amy Butler for Graham and Brown.
